Accepting Donations

I will be putting together a few care packages for our troops, probably next week.  If anyone would like to help or donate items, please let me know.

I am accepting donations of any kind for clothes, books, toys, etc.   I will distribute accordingly to those in need.   I would really like to put together some great donation boxes for those in need for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you have anything you will be throwing away or giving to goodwill, please let me know.

Thank you!

Stories....

Ok, so, I'm not getting quite the response I was hoping for with SUPPORT OUR TROOPS drive.  I may not be able to hold an actual drive to collect items without any support.   However, I will still send as many care packages as I, myself can put together for our troops, so they can receive before Christmas.  If anyone wants to help, there is a paypal account that can be donated to and all proceeds will go directly to filling boxes for our Servicemen and Women.

This evening I made a large donation to a very sweet young lady who just got out of an abusive relationship, is 8 months pregnant and has a two year old boy.  I was able to donate several baby girl items and also several boys clothes, toys and shoes.  With the new baby and twin boys, this was an easy and very fulfilling donation for me.  The young lady was so sweet and so very thankful.

So, as I continue in my efforts to help others in need, I am, at all times, accepting donations.  I can even pick them up from you if needed.   I want to be able to help people who are struggling.

I am very thankful for my life and everyone and everything in it.  But, I can honestly say, I know what it is like to go through tough times alone with children.  I can't even begin to imagine some of the things people go through everyday, just trying to make it through the day.  Life is tough and I am going to help make it just a little easier on everyone that I can.

My dryer went out the other day.  I didn't exactly want to come up with hundreds of dollars to buy a new one, so I did some craigslist searching and found one for $20.  I called the lady, about my age, and she was just a sweetheart.  My husband and a friend picked it up.  She came out in a wheelchair.  She was confined to her wheelchair.  She bought a new dryer and when they installed it, they put the old dryer in the garage in front of her ramp on her van so she could not get in her.  She was just so thankful to have Casey move it, so she could get in her van again.   These are people I admire greatly.   These are the type of people that give me motivation to help other people.

Need more support

Ok, I really want to make this happen and have an extremely successful Donation Drive for our Troops.  I can't do it all alone though, I need some support, advertisment, sponsors, addresses, etc.   I'm sending emails and working on it.  But I just can't go through with it, without support of friends, family and others willing to help out and SUPPORT OUR TROOPS.

Please email dedicateddonationdrives@yahoo.com or find us on Facebook as Az dedicated donation drives and follow us on twitter as Azdonations.   With suggestions or how you can help.

I have a place we can have the drive, but can't request to hold it until I know we can make this successful and get the word out there.

Still looking for:

A list of items needed and wanted for our Servicemen and women

Paypal information and other updates!

Ok, I talked with my Mother-in-law and also my cousin who have offered amazing suggestions and ways to help!

#1.  Paypal account to accept cash donations.  You can donate to dedicateddonationdrives@yahoo.com by visiting paypal.  Please make note not to donate until after Thursday 8/12/10 in order for me to have confirmed all information through paypal.
All monies received via paypal will go directly towards shipping expenses for Support our Troops Drive.  Any money that may be over the total amount of shipping costs will go to providing more items and more boxes to ship to our ServiceMen and Women overseas.

#2.  Addresses of our ServiceMen and Women.  Please feel free to email addresses for whom we can send our care packages.   My mother-in-law and cousin are greatly helping in this area in providing us with addresss.

#3.  Items to send.  Between myself, my mother-in-law and my cousin, hopefully within the next few days I'll have a list of items that would be "needs" and "wants" for our Troops.

#4.  A place and date to hold the EVENT.  I'm continously working on ironing out the details of this.  I'm hoping to post a place and date within the next 7 days.

Thanks for reading and Thanks for your support!!!

Some things to think about

As I move forward with organizing my first Donation Drive ~ Support our Troops ~  I have many unanswered questions still.

Please feel free to offer any suggestions.

1.  A place to hold the event
2.  Sponsors to attend the event
3.  Advertising the event
4.  Ideas on items to suggest to fill the care packages
5.  Donations to help with shipping expenses

Lastly, and most importantly, I need addresses for our ServiceMen and Women to whom we can send care packages to.  If you have a family member or friend that is overseas, please email me their information so I can add to my list of Troops to send items to.

Thanks!

Donations Donations Donations

Well, good afternoon!!!

I was talking to my Mother-in-law today and she had a friend who was getting rid of some baby items, and she decided to take them for Dedicated Donations!!  Yay!

So, this post is informative only, if you have any items at any time, that you would like to donate, please feel free to contact me and I will arrange for pick up.

I will plan as many donation drives as I can, as I've said, for ALL walks of life!  If we get too many items at a time, before a donation drive, I will donate on a separate basis and keep this blog informed on where the items go.

However, please feel free to donate, even if we are not having a drive, I will make sure your items get to people who need them.

I've applied for a Non-Profit Registered name and am continously working on gathering the basics for our first drive, to make sure it is successful and we can help out and surprise our ServiceMen and Women.

Please feel free to email or comment suggestions on ways to advertise our first drive!

Thanks!  We can and we will make a difference in our community!

Our First Donation Drive ~ SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

My first donation drive is going to be to Support our Troops.  I would like to put together as many care packages as possible and ship them to our troops overseas in Iraq and Afganistan.   If you know of someone that would like to receive a care package, please email us at:  dedicateddonationdrives@yahoo.com

If you would like to help, please let me know, as I could use all the help as possible in organizing a very successful first drive.

Lets get the word out there!  Lets find a place to hold the drive!  Lets find sponsors and supporters!

Once the basics of the drive are in place, I will update the blog!
